As video games go, FIFA is full of abbreviations. Heck, even the title is an abbreviation for Fédération Internationale de Football Association!

With so many different abbreviations in one game it can be hard to remember what it all means. So without further ado, here is our full FIFA Abbreviations glossary.

 

FIFA Skill Abbreviations

Commonly known as 'attributes', these are the various skill ratings each player has on FIFA's Ultimate Team game mode (also known as FUT).

Outfield players and Goalkeeper need different skills to play the game. So there are a different set of FIFA attribute abbreviations for each.

There are a lot of different positions in FIFA. In fact, there are so many it can be hard to remember them all. Let alone their abbreviations!

Here are the abbreviations for every FIFA position, starting with the attacking positions.

FIFA Ultimate Team Abbreviations

As well as the abbreviations for skills and FIFA player positions, you'll see more short-hand phrases used in FIFA Ultimate Team. Here are some of the most common Ultimate Team abbreviations:

FUT: FIFA Ultimate Team

CHEM: Chemistry. A team needs high chemistry in order to play well with each other. Matching players from the same league, country or team is the best way to put your chemistry through the roof!

CON: Contract. A player's contract shows how many games they have left before you need to buy them a new contract on the game.

IF: In Form. A special card given to the players who make the team of the week. An in-form card will boost a players stats including bumping up their overall rating by one.

MOTM: Man Of The Match. This means the player was the outstanding talent on the pitch during match.

OTW: One To Watch. Up and coming players receive these cards. The stars of tomorrow.

POTM: Player Of The Month. This goes to the best player of the previous month.

TOTGS: Team Of The Group Stage. This is a team of all the best players of the group stages of the Champions, Europa and European Conference Leagues.

TOTW: Team Of The Week. This is the best team from world football from the previous week.

TOTS: Team Of The Season. These are several different squads that represent the best players from each league that season.

TOTY: Team Of The Year. Released at the end of each calendar year and featuring the best of the best. Usually with massive skills upgrades.

SBC: Squad Builder Challenges. SBCs are challenges where you must build the right squad to receive rewards in return. The rewards are often FIFA coins or packs.
